AARP, Maine Connectivity Authority sponsor event centered on preventing online fraud

BANGOR/ORONO -- Maine Connectivity Authority Digital Equity Director Jessica Perez visited our studio Tuesday to share details about an important event to be hosted by the University of Maine that is geared towards protecting older adults from online fraud.

That event is the Start Summit, which takes place at The University of Maine in Orono on October 4th and 5th. The title of the Summit is “Innovating to Protect Older Adults from Online Fraud.”

As you'll hear, online fraud is a problem that is growing worse every year, and robs older adults of billions of dollars(yes you read that right) each year.
